Yesterday didn’t happen. I’m going to try to convince myself of that. Actually, it wasn’t as bad as the to-do list would have it. I assisted the paternal unit in his quest for a new computer, which took up a good chunk of the afternoon. I spent the evening chatting with WMWG and researching my own computer upgrade.

The plan for today, barring sleep deprivation from staying up too late…

  • make car payment on lunch break, if I don’t opt for sleep check!
  • make cell phone payment online ATT website down tonight, try again tomorrow
  • gym after work fail. Alas, I was just too tired.
  • mid-month cleaning epic fail
  • at least some guitar practice epic fail

I was just way too tired to do much of anything today. I passed out for the better part of two hours after dinner. I’m getting to bed earlier than last night, so tomorrow should be better.

No work today, so lots of time to Get Stuff Done…

  • go to the gym and credit union no gym, but CU deposit made
  • make cell phone and car payments epic fail
  • finish my mid-month cleaning epic fail
  • a lengthy guitar practice and/or songwriting session fail
  • some keyboard practice or PHP work epic fail

Let’s try this a little differently.

I’m going to refocus my efforts here in a slightly different manner. Instead of a daily post (yeah, yeah) with a plus-and-minus and a vague plan for the next day, I’m going to go to a two-pronged approach: Tonight (2/18), I’m going to make a Feb. 19 post with a specific to-do list. I’ll edit that post tomorrow night, annotating my progress on that to-do list and adding commentary on the day, along with posting a to-do for the following day…and so on. I think that will increase my personal accountability, aided by renewed focus I’ve found over the last couple days.

One more thing… lest anyone think otherwise, this blog is not intended to be informative, entertaining or in any way interesting to anyone except those people who know me in real life and have a vested interest in my self-improvement. Just thought I’d clear that up. :) -z

Yeah, I can’t keep this together to save my life. (big surprise!) Anyway, got a bunch of stuff done today but I’m up too late now. Plan for tomorrow has me working from 9 to 5, hitting the gym (talk about overdue!) afterward, then tidying up my room and logging some guitar time.

Today was rather unproductive. I overslept, waking up sometime between 12 and 1. That didn’t leave much time for anything before work, so I made it a lazy day. After work, I picked up the parental units at the airport. That’s about it.

Things I did well:

Things I could have done better:

  • get up earlier
  • less slacking
  • get to bed earlier

The plan for tomorrow:

I don’t have to work (joy!) so I have a lot on the agenda: vote, go to the credit union and the gym, take care of my monthly financial audit (still slacking on that one), get my federal taxes done (and maybe the state too), start catching up on blog posts, and squeeze in some guitaring.

I’ve been pretty inconsistent this month, but I think it’s been a good month overall because of two things: my new relationship with K, which has me happier than I can ever recall being, and the execution of my long-standing bedroom remodeling plans. Yeah, I slacked on most other fronts, but I’m going into February with a strong attitude.

As for today, I was fairly productive. I got all my to-dos done, with the exception of one which I’m putting off until tomorrow morning as a courtesy to my sister and her friend sleeping in the living room.

Things I did well:

  • the little things
  • handled the to-dos
  • to bed on time

Things I could have done better:

  • a little less procrastination

The plan for tomorrow:

Take care of that last to-do from today, get on the bike for a little while (now that I’ve finally set up the trainer) and shower before work. After work, scan any guitar magazines that might be left in the living room, do my monthly financial audit and maybe sneak some guitar practice in.

Yeah, it’s been a while. I’m going to get back on the ball starting with this week. “What have you been doing in all this time?!” you might ask… Well, I’ve been busy painting my room Bright Freakin’ Green! :-D There’s just a tiny bit of work left, mainly the completion of the detail paint on the closet door. Once that’s done (hopefully by tomorrow night, but maybe not until Tuesday…depends on how much work it needs), photos will be on my ‘official’ website. Anyway, back to the routine…

  • Less procrastination
  • Earlier bedtime

The plan for tomorrow:

Go to the credit union, work on the closet door and finish tidying the room before work. Continue closet door work after work.

Today was a moderately productive day marred once again by procrastination. I did manage to get paint samples, sand yesterday’s plaster and put new plaster on the new drywall.

Things I did well:

  • Kept on schedule with the bedroom reno project
  • The little things

Things I could have done better:

  • Less procrastination
  • Earlier bedtime

The plan for tomorrow:

Lots of work. 8-4 in the morning, then back for the 12-8, which leaves little time for anything other than work and sleep. I’m going to sand the plaster after the 8-4, and I’d like to get some of my mess cleaned up, but that’s about it.

Even though I didn’t get through *everything* I wanted to do today, it was still a good day. I made good progress on the room, finishing cleaning, mounting drywall in the gap by my door and plastering.

Things I did well:

  • Earlyish bedtime

Things I could have done better:

  • Less procrastination

The plan for tomorrow:

Get up early, go to Home Depot and/or Lowe’s for sanding screens and to look at paints. Sand and re-plaster if needed. Maybe paint the ceiling. Go to the gym if I have time before work.

Today was pure, unadulterated unproductiveness. I did manage to stop at the credit union, but that was it.

  • pretty much everything else :(

The plan for tomorrow:

Finish the cleaning, make the Goodwill drop (or at least prepare it), start prepping for paint. If I have time, get to the gym and practice ye olde geetar.
